過去的Scarborough是曾經有這樣盛事的港口.
現在因為逐漸沒落.今日的Scarborough只是一個小鎮而已了.
而在中古時期.這首歌是由不具名的吟遊詩人所唱.
而且在城鎮之間流動時.歌詞往往會隨之增添.
這首歌歌詞包含有許多民間的詩句.
